SecurityWatch - The Project SecurityWatch - a project developed and maintained by eBCVG - is an automated web-based advisory and vulnerability monitoring service. SecurityWatch maintains a list of security and software vendors in a database and checks the pages associated with each vendor every 10 minutes for updates. New information is displayed in the chronological order for ease of reading. Relevant advisories and vulnerabilities are selected automatically without human interruption. SecurityWatch's back-end is written in Perl and XML. The front-end is written in PHP. SecurityWatch is served up by Apache Web Server, and keeps its data in a MySQL database. Currently we are running a beta version of the service with relatively small number of vendors. However, our goal is to expand the vendors database and provide the users with customizable alerts within few minutes after a new security-alert has popped up.
