ID theft - It's everywhere these days

Many consumers know the basics for battling identity thieves by now, such as shredding financial papers before tossing them out and being stingy about revealing Social Security numbers.

But did you know ID theft experts also say you should be cautious about using a debit card at the gas pump? Or should avoid entering account and credit card numbers at shared keyboards at Internet cafes and libraries? Or be suspicious if your ATM card gets "eaten" at the machine?
